William H. Younger, Jr.

Bill has started and developed companies in computer infrastructure, software, medical devices and biotherapeutics.

Bill is currently a director of Cardica (CRDC), Kalypto Medical, and Omnicell (OMCL). Bill was also responsible for the firm's start-up investments in Aksys, Blue Ridge Pharmaceuticals, Celeritek, Cohesive Network, COR Therapeutics, Forte, Ingres, Interventional Technologies, Lucy, Oasis Healthcare, Primary Access and Vitria.

Bill serves on the board of the Stanford Hospital and Clinics, where he is chairman of the investment committee. He is on the board of the Gladstone Foundation and is on the advisory board of the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is past President of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists, past chair of the Venture Capital Committees of the Stanford GSB Trust and the Duke Engineering School, and past President of the Menlo Atherton High School Foundation.

He has a BS summa cum laude in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Before coming to Sutter Hill Ventures in 1981, Bill worked at Cummins Engine.
