| Corcept Therapeutics Inc., was founded in
1998 to develop pharmaceutical products for the treatment of
psychotic major depression and other CNS disorders. The lead
product, C-1073, was identified by the founding scientists following
two decades of research into the causes of psychotic major depression.
Psychotic major depression is a severe form of depression that
is associated with a high rate of suicide. Initial clinical
studies have shown that C-1073 rapidly reverses psychosis in
patients with this disorder. C-1073 may have utility in other
major CNS disorders, including dementia, mild cognitive impairment
and modulation of the blood-brain barrier. |
